Consultation has concluded

The City of Mount Gambier, in accordance with the provisions of Section 92 of the Local Government Act 1999, has prepared a draft Council Policy C410 – s92 Code of Practice for Access to Meetings and Documents.

Before a policy under Section 92 can be adopted, altered, or substituted Council must undertake public consultation on the proposed policy, alteration or substitute policy.

On Tuesday 15 August 2023, Council endorsed a draft Council Policy C410 – s92 Code of Practice for Access to Meetings and Documents for public consultation purposes.

The draft policy is based upon a model prepared by the Local Government Association in compliance with Parts 3 and 4 of Chapter 6 of the Act.

The draft policy has been changed to remove procedures to be observed at meetings as determined by Council under Sections 86 and 89 of the Act, proposed for inclusion in a separate policy. Whilst not forming part of the consultation on the policy, others are summarised in Council Report No. AR23/48679 dated 15 August 2023.

The draft policy is published on this page and available for viewing at the Council office at the Civic Centre, 10 Watson Terrace, Mount Gambier.

Feedback is invited on the draft Council Policy C410 – s92 Code of Practice for Access to Meetings and Documents and will be considered by Council before the policy is formally adopted.

Written feedback will be received up until 5:00pm on Tuesday 24 October 2023 and should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, PO Box 56, Mount Gambier SA 5290, via email to city@mountgambier.sa.gov.au, or via the feedback form below.
